76 PLAYERS, TWO TEAMS,

ONE CLUB.

At Hill FC, we pride ourselves on being a fast-growing, community-driven football club based in Deansgrange, Dublin. Since our founding in 2018, we’ve worked tirelessly to foster a welcoming environment where players of all levels can come together and compete. With two adult teams representing our club, we play with passion and determination in the UCD Superleague and are excited about our recent step into the Athletic Union League.

We see ourselves as more than just a football team our club is a community. With 76 players currently on our roster, with over 300 players passing in our time, we believe in the power of unity, teamwork, and growth. Our motto, "76 players, two teams, one club," highlights our collective spirit.

We're fortunate to be backed by our loyal sponsors, Alliance Insurance, Titan Digital, Xpert Detailing & Grip Active, who play a key role in supporting our journey. Their support allows us to continue building a strong foundation and compete at a higher level, helping us achieve our goal of growing both on and off the pitch. As we look toward the future, we aim to make a name for ourselves in Dublin’s amateur football scene while staying true to the values that brought us here.

2022: SO CLOSE YET SO FAR

After a tumultuous period of which the team couldn’t so much as buy a win, it all came together in the semi final of The UCD Conference League. Two goals from the late Conor Round, saw us hold on in an inspiring performance, with Devon Cummins scoring the 6th penalty in the eventual shootout to send us through to the final. There, unfortunately, with the prospect of a first trophy staring us in the face, it wasn’t to be. Joy Street ran out 2-0 winners on the day, marking it as their final game, and leaving us hunting again for that illusive first piece of silverware.

2023: Champions

Summer 2023 was our first relatively strong season. A decent if not unspectacular record in the league saw us finish in a respectable fifth place, which to date was our highest ever league finish. However, it was in the UCD Cup that we would come alive. A quarter final to remember vs Warrybank Wanderers, a dramatic 2-2 with Tadhg O’Reilly scoring both before Mark Walsh would prove the hero in a dramatic shootout, saving three penalties to send us through to the semi final vs Finding Timo.

Here, we were facing the side for the seventh time that year and despite grabbing the odd draw, had never beaten them. That changed. An awe inspiring performance from the side blew Finding Timo away in what was our first recorded game, with Tadhg coming up trumps again scoring twice either side of a Tim Harrington goal to see win 3-0, and finally, return to another final, with redemption on the agenda after our 2022 heartbreak.

The final, vs Steamed Fulham, despite being end to end, proved to be a typical final, with both sides failing to score on the night and playing reserved, with our highlights being a shot off the post from Daniel Gough, a long range shot off the bar from Ian Connaughton, a header just over from Tadhg O’Reilly, and a goal line clearance from Michael Healy proving to be only notable moments before the game finished 0-0, we reached the moment of truth, the penalty shootout. In truth, the final was defined by just one kick, with our first three penalty takers Captain Lorcan Pamukcu, Tadhg O’Reilly & Devon Cummins all scoring their own, before a Steamed Fulham player stepped forward and hit his shot over the bar. That was it, Evan Barry slotted his following penalty, before Tim Harrington would become a club hero, slotting the winning penalty, seeing us crowned UCD Cup Champions.

2024: New Beginnings, Unbeaten Champions

Summer 2024 was in some ways our club’s magnum opus, with the foundations having been laid for years with pockets of talent finally meeting players all across the pitch of a similar standard, turning us into a force to be reckoned with. Early season wins against The Mont, Hill FC II, Net6 & Chill as well as draws vs Warrybank Wanderers & Leglites set us up nicely, but it was victories versus Ooga Booga FC, and Futbolito FC that saw us with one hand on the league title. a final day 8-1 thrashing of Paqueta Crisps saw that prospect realised, with The Hill FC winning our first UCD Superleague Title in emphatic fashion, unbeaten. Despite a potential sour end to the year, with a 4-0 loss to Ooga Booga FC in the UCD Cup Final, the seconds team would ensure a successful year close themselves.

Hill Second Teams have existed in years gone by, launching alongside the first team in 2021, however crashing out and not being risen again until Mark Byrne attempted to create one again in March of 2023, but proving unsuccessful. This time, former first team player Conor Pamukcu, and former first team captain Liam McCarthy, banded together to create a seconds side who have maintained despite the difficulties they have faced, the side kickstarted their 2024 campaign with a 4-1 win. It would be the Europa League where the side would truly come alive, steamrolling the group stages before facing Net6 & Chill in the final, beating them 3-1 to win their first trophy.
