The first game of our new season saw us come up against Superleague new boys Bloody Burnley. The team were quietly confident that their experience would win them over in this game.

The first half was witness to some of our best football with the lads really showing how well we can move the ball when we get used to playing as a team, however despite the good football we kept lacking in our finishing with an uncharacteristic miss from Ryan summing up our first half.

The second half saw a shock opening with Burnley scoring from close range to go 1-0 up from their few chances. The heads didn’t go down however and lads were back up causing trouble for our opposition. The knocking on the door eventually culminated in Sideeq playing a beautiful ball in on to the head of Jordan Kelly who brought us level from close range. The team had the energy to surge forward and with not long left on the clock Mark Tresson, who himself had only been subbed on minutes before, whipped another brilliant ball in for Jordan to score again and we start our season with a win.
