Gameweek 2 saw us come up against another new team in Rapid Belfield. While the tangerines were coming off the back of an opening day win, the opponents were playing their first game of the season. The lads being confident in our ability to beat the team.

The first half was a very mixed affair with our opponents showing us they were no pushovers. We had pockets of good football before Belfield opened the scoring with a goal identical to the one we’d conceded a week prior, an awkward fumble in the box before a striker pounced and smashed one in. However like the week before the lads didn’t let a goal define our game and we dug in. Sideeq playing Jordan in who turned a defender before tucking away an equaliser, his fourth goal in three games for us since joining. Not too long before half time and Ian Connaughton had taken the ball from outside the box and his shot found the net after the goalkeeper misjudged the attempt. Despite this positive start we saw our first ever red card, with Devon being shown his marching orders after a back and fourth with a Belfield player.

The second half was a very even affair with the lads struggling to truly get a firm grip on the game, with chances coming for both sides including what looked as tho our opponents had equalised, however with the attempt hitting the post and Adam Ghee tracking to clear we held off. Our second red card came however with Sideeq being sent off for another altercation, with the opponents lucky to not see one themselves. But these were not enough to see an equaliser from our opponents and we keep our 100% start to the season.
