Hill FC 7-0 Daft Spunk
UCD Champions League - Group Game 4
Goals from: Marc Ivie (1), Tadhg O’Reilly (3), Devon Cummins (2), Evan Flynn (1)
This game is genuinely mythical. First up, we are now 13 wins in a row. 13. Before this season our record win streak was THREE. Insane. This team is on a generational run. A fourth win in the UCL group phase puts us back top and puts us in a good spot to qualify for the next round.
Despite the scoreline, it doesn’t tell the full story. Marc Ivie got us up and running in the first half with a slotted finish and despite this, Daft put up quite the fight, a little too much fight it seemed as the game descended into ugly moments, which only made us feel for Chris as he had to control some very unfortunately raised characters. We still littered their box but couldn’t find a second going into halftime.
Second half however, the gears finally started to shift. A goal from Tadhg finally eased our nerves and rattled potentially the most annoying opposition player we’ve ever had in our 136 games, to the point he was throwing a tantrum! From there, things opened up and not long after Ivie had found Tadhg again and slotted away our third, before finding a third of his own in similar fashion, taking him now up to 31 goals for the club, and itching so close to that all time record! Devon Cummins returned for a week visit from London after a year away, and got a better send off than last time, finding himself in the box to grab his first ever brace for the club! A wonderful piece of the puzzle but on top of that how could it get any better? Somehow it did. A penalty awarded for a handball save from Eoghan Murphy meant Evan Flynn, on his 89TH appearance for the club, finally got a chance to open his account for the club and dispatched it with ease, congratulations to him on getting his first goal for the club!
An overall great night and a big win to push for quarters, we go again next Thursday vs Parkalona 🧡
